Animals play a very important role in making Kallingal farm an integrated farm. Mr. Ciby is maintaining animals and birds like indigenous breed cows, horses , Goats ,Dogs , rabbits,Cocktails, lovebirds, doves, pigeons, Diamond Doves, Pinches etc. in the farm. Poultry, including variety of fowls, ducks, gooses, turkeys and quails are also maintained to supply organic manures and to maintain the garden weed free through the grazing of animals. Animal grazing provides good control over weed growth with less expenditure, and thus helps to maintain the farm with minimum tillage
Breeding of animals and sale of their young ones fetch an additional income to the farm.
Apiculture
Both Stingless bees and Indian honey bees are maintained in the farm mainly to assist in pollination of coconut flowers and also to get honey for domestic consumption.
PiscicultureWe are growing fresh water fish in 2 tanks. One with ornamental fishes and the other with edible fishes (thilopi, Gif thilopi,Gaurami Katla )etc.the nutrient rich water from the fish pond are used to irrigate crops and vegetables. It helps in improving the yield and quality of produce. A fish nursery is maintained in the farm. Both ornamental and edible fishes are grown in the tanks.
